XT STUDS (WITH OVERSIZED THREAD)

The XT stud model is the latest innovation developed by iGrip Industries Inc to meet the needs of users seeking optimal traction, even in the most extreme conditions. This stud demonstrates the expertise and attention to detail for which iGrip Industries Inc. is renowned throughout Issoudun.

ADVANTAGES

The XT stud features a deep chamfered thread that allows the rubber to penetrate between each thread, providing superior anchoring and increased stability on all surfaces. Thanks to its patented shoulder made of hardened galvanized steel with a tungsten carbide insert, this model combines robustness and longevity, while ensuring exceptional wear resistance.

The XT stud is quick and easy to install and remove. Its unique shoulder design prevents it from digging into the tire, protecting your tires while maximizing stud performance. The chamfered thread ensures maximum grip, providing aggressive traction even on low-profile tires, which is especially appreciated in ice racing and by heavy equipment operators.

By choosing the XT stud from iGrip Industries Inc, you are choosing increased safety, remarkable durability and unsurpassed performance on icy and difficult terrain.

HOW TO INSTALL THE XT STUD MODEL ?

STEP 1, XT STUD INSTALLATION

The XT stud is designed to be installed in the tire tread. Its shoulder helps limit how far the stud penetrates the rubber and keeps it properly seated in place.

BEFORE INSTALLATION:

  1. Measure the height of the tire tread to select a suitable stud. For example, a tread height of 1 1/4 inches must be taken into consideration when choosing the stud.

  2. Make sure the XT model and its length are suitable for the tire and its intended application.

The XT stud is made of hardened galvanized steel and features a tungsten carbide tip. Its design promotes durability, traction, and ease of installation and removal.

Important: The appropriate stud length and installation method must be confirmed according to the manufacturer's specifications. Do not select the stud length based solely on tread height without verifying stud compatibility.

STEP 2, STUD FUNCTION AND QUANTITY

The XT stud is a shoulder-style stud designed to provide extreme traction on tires and rubber tracks. Its hexagonal profile promotes grip, while its shoulder helps keep it securely in place in the rubber.

It is suitable for various types of equipment, from light vehicles to heavy-duty vehicles, depending on tire compatibility and the intended application.

HOW TO DETERMINE THE REQUIRED QUANTITY :

  1. Count the number of tread rows on one side of the tire.

  2. Multiply this number by two, three, or four, as applicable, to determine the total number of tread rows on both sides.

  3. Generally, allow for 2 to 4 studs per tread row, depending on the requirements and tire configuration.

  4. Alternate the installation pattern and distribute the studs evenly to promote traction and stability.

Example:

  • 17 tread rows on each side of the tire.

  • 17 × 2 = 34 tread rows in total.

  • 34 × 4 = 136 studs if using 4 studs per row.

In this example, plan for approximately 100 to 150 studs per tire, depending on the selected installation pattern.

CUSTOMER RESPONSE GUIDELINES

When responding to a customer regarding the XT model:

  • Clearly explain how to measure the tire tread and select a compatible stud.

  • Explain that the shoulder helps prevent the stud from penetrating too deeply into the rubber and helps keep it securely in place. The shoulder must be recessed into the rubber, not protruding outside the rubber surface.

  • Help the customer calculate the required quantity based on the number of tread rows and the planned number of studs per row.

  • Clarify that 2 to 4 studs per row is a general calculation guideline, not a universal rule for all tires.

  • If the customer asks for an exact length, installation tool, installation depth, or technical procedure that is not documented here, request the necessary information or recommend checking the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Never guarantee a specific level of traction or safety without verified technical data.

  • If the customer provides the tire type, intended application, and number of tread rows, help estimate the required quantity and clearly state the assumptions used.
